U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will be at the College of Charleston on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, as part of her Fight for Our Freedoms college tour. The event will be held in the Sottile Theatre and begins at 1 p.m.
โThe tour focuses on key issues that disproportionately impact young people across America,โ according to a release from the Office of the Vice President of the United States. The release states that the tour touches on issues from reproductive freedom and gun safety to climate action, voting rights, LGBTQ+ equality, mental health and book bans.
โThis generation is critical to the urgent issues that are at stake right now for our future,โ says Vice President Harris. โIt is young leaders throughout America who know what the solutions look like and are organizing in their communities to make them a reality. My message to students is clear: We are counting on you, we need you, you are everything.โ
College of Charleston students will have the opportunity to ask questions of the vice president.
