After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Charleston Miracle will host its annual dance marathon fundraiser, CougarThon, in the College of Charleston Stern Student Center (71 George St.) on April 9, 2022, from 12–6 p.m.

The College of Charleston community will gather for live musical performances, dancing, a silent disco, food trucks, crafts, fundraising pushes, patient and family stories, and more. After the celebration, Charleston Miracle will reveal how much they have raised during the 2021–22 fundraising year.

The six-hour marathon is the biggest student-run philanthropy event on campus. Charleston Miracle raises funds and awareness for the campaign for the Medical University of South Carolina’s new Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, the local Children’s Miracle Network affiliate hospital. In the past few years, they were able to raise enough to sponsor a couplet room in the hospital.

The event kicks off at noon on Saturday, April 9, and everyone is invited. Registration is not required to attend CougarThon but is encouraged for exclusive Miracle Maker perks at the event. Registration is $15 per person in advance and can be done by visiting tinyurl.com/CMDM2022. Onsite registration is free, but day-of registration does not guarantee access to the exclusive Miracle Maker perks.
