It’s been 165 days since former Duke assistant coach Candice M. Jackson was hired to lead the College of Charleston women’s basketball team into its second year as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association.
Now, her Cougars are 40 days away from their first official game of the 2014-15 campaign on Nov. 14 at Kennesaw State in Kennesaw, Georgia. College of Charleston is coming off a semifinal appearance during its inaugural CAA Tournament run and a postseason semifinal appearance in the WBI.
On the first official day of practice over the weekend, Coach Jackson said she was ready to get started.
“It feels good to get going after a long preseason. We are excited and we are ready to go. Our kids are definitely excited. It’s a new era and we are looking forward to starting a new tradition.”
