The award-winning Madrigal Singers, conducted by Professor and Director of Choral Activities Robert Taylor, will perform sacred and secular holiday season carols, such as “Coventry Carol,” “Once in Royal David’s City” and “Carol of the Bells.” Each of the three evenings will be filled with Renaissance entertainment and a traditional yuletide feast including Cornish hen, haricot vert (green beans), wild rice, apple caramel tart, coffee, wine and Wassail, an ancient English mulled cider.
The College of Charleston Madrigal Singers is an auditioned ensemble made up of students from the College’s Concert Choir that specializes in chamber music ranging from the Renaissance to the present. They are well known for the annual Yuletide Madrigal Feast and for their regular performances in the Early Music Seires and Young Artists Series in the Piccolo Spoleto Festival.
