This is your chance to sample dozens of cultures from around the world without trying to find your passport.
The College of Charleston will host the 10th Annual World Cultures Fair on Thursday, March 29, 2018, in the Stern Center Garden. The event will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The rain location for the event is the Stern Center Ballroom.
The fair will showcase international cultures with over 30 tables displaying crafts, foods and information about student clubs and international programs at the College. Attendees will be entertained by student, faculty, and community performers in areas such as Japanese drumming, Chinese lion dance, gospel songs, tarantella dance, flamenco guitar, belly dance, oud music, Indian folk dance, Nubian dance and more.
Nearly every culture and language taught at the College will be represented. Throughout the day, student clubs along with faculty and staff will serve authentic foods and provide cultural experiences. Each hour of the festival will highlight a different food theme.
The entire College community is invited to wear festive or traditional dress to represent different cultures, not necessarily one’s own. For more information on the World Cultures Fair, please contact Kathy Kaufmann at kaufmannk@cofc.edu.
