What are you doing in November? For alumni of the College of Charleston the answer is easy – you’re attending Fall Alumni Weekend at your alma mater.
This marks the third consecutive year of the Fall Alumni Weekend, but it’s the first time the Division of Student Affairs is partnering with Alumni Affairs. Unlike Spring Alumni Weekend, classes will be in session during the fall festivities Nov. 16-18, 2018, which will allow alumni to engage with students and faculty, and share meaningful career advice and connections. This year, for the first time, sororities and fraternities will host open houses on Saturday morning so alumni can visit and meet student members before the big oyster roast that afternoon.
“It’s quickly become a family affair with great food and live music – not to mention Clyde to entertain all the Cougar cubs,” says Ann Looper Pryor ’83, vice-president of Alumni Affairs. “A wide variety of student organizations and clubs will be on hand at the oyster roast to welcome their alumni back to campus. On Saturday evening, we’ll honor seven distinguished alumni for their incredible accomplishments at an elegant Gala at Charleston Place. We hope Fall Alumni Weekend will eventually become our annual ‘Homecoming’ for alumni and students to celebrate all that we love about our alma mater.”
