Matt Czuchry ’99 rejoins the cast of CBS’ The Good Wife for its fifth season, set to premier September 29, 2013 at 9 p.m. Czuchry plays one of the lead characters, Cary Agos, a young attorney who works at the same law firm as female lead Alicia Florrick (Juliana Margulies).

Season five holds a covert exit by Cary and Alicia, who agreed to leave their high-power firm, Stern, Lockhart & Gardner, together to start a new firm at the end of season four. About the dramatic plot twist, Margulies said, “With Cary standing at the door [in the season four finale], I felt like I’m in an adult drama” in a Huffington Post interview.
Czuchry graduated from the College with a double major in political science and history. He moved to Los Angeles shortly following graduation and began his acting career within a few months of arriving.

Although acting may not be the career path he thought he was preparing for in college, Czuchry appreciates the lessons he learned during his time on campus. “I learned about perseverance, discipline and bouncing back from disappointment after losing matches. Life lessons … which I think are ultimately the most important lessons that you learn in college.”
Czuchry’s previous roles span television and film, and include a multi-episode arc in NBC’s Friday Night Lights, a multi-season arc in the WB’s Gilmore Girls and a starring role in the movie based on Tucker Max’s memoirs by the same name, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.
