Anita Zucker, chairperson and CEO of the InterTech Group, encouraged graduates at the College of Charleston to become leaders and “stand as a beacon for others.” Zucker was the commencement speaker during the 2013 Winter Commencement Ceremony at the College of Charleston on Saturday.
More than 400 students received their degrees during the event at the College’s TD Arena.
Zucker told the graduating class that they are now in charge of their future.
“Take a moment to consider the person you are to become, the life you want to live and the legacy you wish to create. Life is the unfolding of your story. The story you were born to tell.”
During the ceremony, Spoleto Festival U.S.A General Manager Nigel Redden also received an honorary degrees from the College.
