The semester may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean the College of Charleston campus is quiet. From the completion of a Lego model of the Cistern Yard to a ping-pong match for the ages, there’s been plenty of action.
On Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2020, CofC faculty, staff and students came together to celebrate the completion of a Lego model of the College’s iconic Cistern Yard, including Randolph Hall and Towell Library. Darcie Goodwin, senior director of advancement communications at CofC, spearheaded the project, which includes more than 18,000 Lego bricks. CofC President Andrew T. Hsu finished the build by placing a Lego version of himself on the Cistern. Here are just a few of the many people that helped build this Lego masterpiece: students Ronchi Sebastiano, Jon Kindell, Trent Humphrey, Mary Kule, Robbie Ferrell, Noah Sigalas, Elizabeth Parks, Kendall Tally, Leona Daly and Emily Oliver; alumni Loughlin Anderson ’20, Sarah Sayce ’20, Matthew Morris ’20 and Susan Kraybill ’11; faculty John Chadwick and his son Benjamin (pictured); staff Frank Covington, Sam Holmes, Vincent Fraley, Maddy Young (pictured), Megan Gould ‘16, Katie Monk and Robyn Olejniczak; and community members Alexander Read, Scott Goodwin, John Goodwin and Kavin Umakanthan. In addition to Cougar Night Lights in the Cistern Yard (which is open to the public and held nightly on the half-hour from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.), the rest of the CofC campus is also dressed up for the holidays. (Photos by Mike Ledford)
