She was selected by a panel of judges from 374 nominations from around the world. The selection was based on a competitive viewing process of her resume, artist’s statement and images.
Evans says, “Interestingly, this piece wasn’t actually included in my thesis exhibition, and has never been shown before, so I’m glad it will have the chance to live on for a bit.”

She completed her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at the University of Maryland in May and plans a move to Iowa with her husband, where she hopes to keep an active studio practice and participate in more residences. Eventually, she hopes to become a sculpture professor.
“If it weren’t for the support of College of Charleston studio art professors Jarod Charzewski and Herb Parker I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today!” Evans says.
Evans will participate in the Grounds For Sculpture’s Fall/Winter Exhibition, which will be on view from October 2014 – March 2015 in Hamilton, N.J., adjacent to the ISC headquarters. Her work will also be featured in the October 2014 issue of the International Sculpture Center’s award winning publication, Sculpture magazine as well as on the ISC’s website.
