The women’s program made history this past Wednesday when they defeated Morehead State in the first round of the WBI. This was the first Division I playoff victory. The last time the Cougars won a post-season tournament game dates back to the 1980-81 season when we were a part of the NAIA.
Bradley University is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The Braves are 17-13 on the season and are coached by Paula Buscher.
This is the first year of the WBI. It was created to provide a choice for postseason worthy Division I Women’s teams who wish to continue their season, but who did not qualify for the NCAA tournament.
The 16-team event will take place over two weeks with all games being played on campus sites. The championship game is tentatively scheduled for March 27 or 28.
