It’s once again time for the College’s biggest entrepreneurship pitch event – ICAT Demo Day. With $10,000 at stake, a lot is on the line for the six student teams that will participate on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, in Wells Fargo Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.

This is the College’s sixth edition of the semester-based ICAT Program (Interdisciplinary Center for Applied Technology), which has become known as a signature opportunity for students to develop a business that can make a profit while also making a difference. Each of the six teams that will make their pitch at ICAT Demo Day have worked throughout the past semester to develop a unique business idea that specifically addresses one of the United Nations Sustainable Development goals.

At Demo Day, the teams will have three minutes to make their respective pitches. Then, a panel of judges drawn from Charleston’s business community will ask questions and evaluate the proposals. Ultimately, three teams will be deemed winners and their members will split the prize money and use it to move their companies forward with impact.

ICAT Demo Day is free and open to the public. Attendees are asked to register in advance via Evite. ICAT is a program housed in the College’s School of Business. For additional information about ICAT, visit the program’s website.
