Last Friday's rock you like a Herman Cain South-Cain-olina at the College of Charleston. It gave me some of hope to see so many students so willing to skip class on such short notice.
The next day, Friday, Cain attended a campaign rally with satirist Stephen Colbert in Cistern Yard on the university’s quad. Nearly 5,000 people, mostly students, showed up at the event, perching on walls around the quad, hanging out of the windows of school buildings. To promote the "I am Herman Cain" meme, Colbert organized a rally Friday at the College of Charleston, which drew the largest crowd to date in the 2012 presidential campaign. The stunt injected some comic relief into the race, but that's about it. Just 6,324 out of more than 600,000 voters cast ballots for Cain.
