The Preservation Society of Charleston will hold its 67th Carolopolis Awards Ceremony at the College of Charleston Sottile Theatre, 44 George Street, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. The event will also be livestreamed.ย Presented by Carriage Properties, the 67th Carolopolis Awards Ceremony will recognize a diverse group of 18 winning projects.

The presentation of a Carolopolis Award recognizes extraordinary private and public efforts to maintain the historic character and authenticity of Charleston and the Lowcountry. Since creating the Carolopolis Award in 1953, the Preservation Society has presented more than 1,400 awards in recognition of outstanding achievement in historic preservation. In 2016, the society introduced new awards for the preservation of historic interiors, as well as compatible new construction.
This is the first year that the society has held its signature fundraiser at the historic and recently restored Sottile Theatre, which will maintain strict social-distancing guidelines for in-person guests.
