Following a year of unprecedented change brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the College of Charleston is taking part in the Great Colleges to Work For survey.ย
On Friday, March 26, 2021, College employees received an invitation with details about the survey and how to access it. The invitations were emailed from Great Colleges at ModernThink, the independent management consulting firm focusing on workplace quality in higher education that is conducting the survey. The email includes a username and password. Employees are encouraged to check their Junk folders if it did not appear in their Inbox. An alternative method of accessing the survey is through a secure socket layer at https://www.modernthink.net/highered/login/cofc.
Faculty and staff can access the survey from an internet browser on or off campus through Friday, April 9, 2021. The survey is also mobile friendly. Please note that answers are stored every time participants click the “Save and Continue” button at the bottom of each page, and they may log into their survey as many times as they need to complete the survey. Once the “Submit” button on the last page of the survey is clicked, answers are locked in and participants will not be able to log in again.
This survey serves as a great opportunity to assess the climate of the campus and will include topics such as work quality, communication, management, workplace culture and benefits. At the close of the survey, the College will receive reports that summarize the organizational competencies and relationships that most directly impact and influence the College culture. The data received from this survey will be helpful in the effort to make the College the best workplace possible, and will help inform the implementation of the College’s 10-year strategic plan, especially the Employee Experience and Success pillar.
The results of the survey will also be compared to results from other colleges and universities participating in the survey this spring. Thus, to ensure reliable comparative data, faculty and staff are asked to complete the survey based on how they experienced the CofC workplace and culture in spring 2021.
โI strongly encourage everyoneโs participation and hope you will take this opportunity to share your honest feedback,โ said Presidentย Andrew T. Hsu in an email CofC faculty and staff. โThis is your chance to make your voice heard. I am very interested in hearing about your work experience. A high response rate helps ensure an accurate representation of our work community.โ
CofC faculty and staff may review the College’s previous Great Colleges to Work For survey results (2019, 2015 and 2013), here (CofC login required).ย ย
