College of Charleston President Andrew T. Hsu sent the following message to faculty and staff on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, regarding a virtual town hall to discuss the new Responsibility Center Management (RCM) budget model:
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Our next Virtual Town Hall for Faculty and Staff will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13. The primary topic of discussion will be the College’s path forward in designing and implementing a Responsibility Center Management (RCM) budget model. The event link is here and also provided below.
Representatives from Kennedy & Company Education Strategies, the consulting firm assisting the College in this effort, will give a presentation describing what RCM entails, the work that has been conducted on campus thus far and what steps are ahead. Kennedy & Company representatives, along with myself, CFO John Loonan and Provost Suzanne Austin, will be on hand to answer questions following the presentation.
Communication with campus is an important part of the College’s transition to the RCM model, so I hope that many of you will be able to join this event. For those unable to join, the town hall will be recorded and the video made available to campus on the College’s website. In the meantime, please see the attached document for a timeline of the RCM process.
If you have questions about the College’s transition to the RCM model, you may send them to rcm@cofc.edu
Sincerely,
Andrew
