From midnight to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, during its third annual CofC Day, the College of Charleston will celebrate the 252nd anniversary of its founding. Given the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, CofC Day will offer opportunities for alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends to come together both in person and virtually for a day of giving in support of the College.

To drive pride, excitement and energy throughout the day, a variety of fun events will be held, including:

  • More than 20 regional CofC Clubs from London to Los Angeles will host CofC Day parties for local alumni, parents and friends to celebrate together.
  • The Lowcountry CofC Day event will include a pre-game pep rally from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Cistern Yard, with four food trucks, the Chucktown Sound pep band, CofC cheerleaders, the Cougarettes dance team, Clyde the Cougar and maroon velvet birthday cupcakes. In addition to making a $5 donation to CofC Day, ticket holders will receive a CofC Day T-shirt, a $10 food truck voucher and two drinks (beer or wine). Following the pep rally, the men’s basketball team will take on Hofstra at 7 p.m. at TD Arena, and alumni may purchase discount game tickets.
  • The CofC Day Webcast, hosted by Emmy Award-winning alumna Lu Parker ’90 of KTLA in Los Angeles and alumnus Mikel Hannah-Harding ’19, meteorologist at WRDW in Augusta, Georgia, will be held on the Alumni Association’s YouTube Channel from 7-9 p.m. The show will include exciting updates on our CofC Day giving tallies and leaderboards, performances by our cheer and dance teams, and overviews of happenings on campus, how donor gifts are used and more.
