The College of Charleston Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC) has announced the results of the recent special election to fill its two vacant seats – one at-large representative and one representative of buildings, grounds or custodial.

Congratulations to the following elected representatives:

  • At-Large Seat: Glenda Inabinet, Assistant to the Dean/Budget Director, School of Business
  • Building/Grounds/Custodial Seat: Rashad Towns, Associate Director of Building Maintenance, Facilities Management

The at-large seat ends on June 30, 2022. In her statement of interest, Inabinet said, “I feel I can bring fresh ideas to the Staff Advisory Committee to the President. I work closely with other staff members throughout the College and often hear their concerns for staff wellbeing. I feel I could be a good resource for staff to share their feedback regarding staff issues. I have been a longtime believer in the FISH philosophy to improve teamwork, retention, services, innovation and morale. I would love to see the College embrace some of these practices.”

Towns, whose replacement term ends on June 30, 2024, said in his statement of interest, “I’m interested in serving on the Staff Advisory Committee to the President because I’m committed to advocating for facilities as well as making a difference campus wide with my experience in both the private and public sectors.”

SAC values the unique perspectives, backgrounds and experiences of all College of Charleston staff and aims to provide representation from all areas of the College to support an inclusive workplace that inspires excellence and innovation resulting in a thriving staff community.

The purpose of SAC is to advise the president about staff opinions concerning matters of importance to the staff and institution, to receive the president’s requests for advice and counsel regarding matters relevant to the staff, to increase awareness of the staff’s contributions to the College and to promote the recognition of outstanding staff.
