If you missed the “Setting Minority Students Up for Success” event last month, you’re in luck: The panel of AALANA (African American, Latinx, Asian and Native American) alumni was recorded as they shared their achievements and challenges and reflected on how being a person of color shaped their time at CofC and prepared them for a successful career after college.

Moderated by Rénard Harris, chief diversity officer at the College of Charleston, the panel included:

  • Dr. Natalie Gamble Johnson DHA ’99, Associate Dean for Diversity Affairs for the College of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina
  • Miwako “Mimi” Striplin ’14, Owner of The Tiny Tassel, Charleston, S.C.
  • Joshua K. Hall ’14, Director of Programs for Saga Education, Charleston, S.C.

The Office of University Communications hosted the event on March 23, 2022, in the Stern Center Ballroom. More about AALANA events at the College of Charleston is available here.
