Election Open for At-Large, Academic Affairs Staff Advisory Committee Representatives

The election for the Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC) term beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2025, is open through Tuesday, May 31, 2022. There are five at-large seats and one Academic Affairs/Office of the Provost seat available.

At-Large SeatsAny permanent or temporary eligible staff member may vote for the five at-large candidates.

Academic Affairs/Provost Seat – Any permanent or temporary staff member employed by the following may vote for one organizational seat and five at-large seats: Office for the Academic Experience, Honors College, Graduate School, Office for Institutional Effectiveness, Office of Institutional Research, CofC Libraries, Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Office of Research and Grants Administration and Office of the Registrar.

Voters are encouraged to review the below candidates and their statements on SAC’s website before submitting their online ballot via Microsoft Forms:
**Eligible for both the Academic Affairs/Office of the Provost seat and the five at-large seats, but will be considered first for the organizational seat.

  • Michael Bommarito, instructional technologist for the Teaching and Learning Team, Division of Information Technology
  • Brittany Denis, director of the IT Portfolio Management Office, Division of Information Technology
  • Melanie A. Greene, administrative assistant for the Center for Partnerships to Improve Education, School of Education, Health, and Human Performance
  • Joy Heinzman, associate director of Residence Life, Division of Student Affairs
  • **Kait Lamontagne, assistant director for the Center for Student Learning, Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • **Dustin Roberts, assistant director for the First Year Experience, Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • Jeff Woraratanadharm, IT PC/Network/AV technician for Networking and Engineering, Division of Information Technology

To vote, complete the online voting form for SAC by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31. Non-instructional staff members from any department who occupy numbered state lines can vote in SAC elections. Employees with the words “president” or “provost” in their titles or who are considered senior administrative officers are not eligible to serve or vote on SAC.

SAC is also accepting self-nominations for the following open seats:

  • Division of Business Affairs Seat – One organizational seat is available for the term ending June 30, 2025, for permanent staff members employed by Campus Services, the Office of Budgeting and Payroll Services, the Office of Human Resource or the Office of the Internal Auditor.
  • Temporary Staff Seat – One at-large seat is available for the term ending June 30, 2023, for temporary employees from any unit on campus.
