S.C. Sea Grant Consortium – FY24–25 Request for Proposals

The S.C. Sea Grant Consortium has opened the FY24–25 Request for Proposals. A total of $1,000,000 is available for one-to-two–year projects that identify needs of marine and coastal resources in South Carolina. Only five to seven projects will be selected for funding, conditional on NOAA funding. National Archives and Records Administration – Archives Collaboratives

The National Archives grant will support three or more repositories collaborating together for their collections to be accessible to the public. The program seeks improvement for small and underserved archives with collections focusing on indigenous and people of color. Funding awards go up to $25,000.
South Carolina Humanities – Fast Track Literary Grants

Fast Track Literary Grants will fund new or existing public literary programs, including book festivals, conferences or writers’ residencies at schools. Please note that S.C. Humanities will not subsidize expenses of research, writing or publishing books through this program. Applicants may request up to $3,000 in funding for programs that start after April 15, 2023.
National Endowment for the Humanities – Professional Development Programs: Institutes for Higher Education Faculty

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Professional Development Program will fund K-12 and higher education faculty, offering them the chance to study humanities topics without financial burden. Stipends of up to $3,450 will be awarded for residential programs and up to $1,725 for virtual programs.
South Carolina Arts Commission – Art Project Support Grants

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Business-Cooperative Service – Agriculture Innovation Center Program

National Endowment for the Humanities – Fellowships Open Book Program

The Fellowships Open Book Program competition aims to make books in the humanities digitally available to scholars, students and the public with the use of e-book technology. Any author who has published in the past seven years, or any author that is about to publish, is eligible to apply to the competition. Awards will be given up to $5,500.
National Science Foundation – Geosciences Open Science Ecosystem Program

The Geosciences Open Science Ecosystem (GEO OSE) program will fund activities promoting advancement in the geosciences through access to data, collections, software, computing, etc. The grant’s mission is to foster connection of informational resources and computing compatibilities for a long-lasting resource for future geoscientists. Award availability is subject to change based on the GEO OSE program’s available funds. Up to 10 grants will be awarded.
National Science Foundation – Emerging Mathematics in Biology

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Emerging Mathematics in Biology (eMB) program endorses interdisciplinary research that addresses mathematical biological innovations to mathematical/statistical/computational theories, tools and modeling. The program encourages the development of new theories using mathematics, along with artificial intelligence and machine learning, to help answer questions of biologists and public health policymakers. The eMB program will support projects that are up to three years in duration, with funding up to $6,000,000 across award winners per year, until 2025.
National Science Foundation – Expeditions in Computing (Expeditions)

The National Endowment for the Arts – Grants for Arts Projects

The South Carolina Research Authority – FY23 Academic Matching Grant

Department of the Navy – Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics Education and Workforce Program

The Department of the Navy (DoN) Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Education and Workforce Program will support educational activities and programs in the physical and natural sciences, technology, engineering, social sciences and mathematics disciplines, topics or issues. Projects should aim to meet the following objectives: (1) expand participants knowledge in STEM-related fields, (2) assist students pursuing STEM certifications or careers, (3) provide research relief for students and (4) better faculty quality in the STEM field. Funding ranges from $50,000 to $600,000, depending on the type, scope and duration of proposed projects.
Grant writers should check out the Tips for a Successful Grant on the Environmental Protection Agency website for insight into what grant reviewers want to see in application packets – including how proposals connect back to the locals in the area or into the discipline you’re involved in – and for suggestions on how to better rally support and foster connections to show reviewers the value of your application.
