On Monday, June 5, 2023, the campus community received the following message from the Division of Information Technology regarding new room-scheduling software that will be implemented on Monday, June 26, 2023:
Hello,
We are so excited to announce that the College of Charleston is moving our room scheduling software from 25Live to the new Astra Schedule. The move is going to bring great new features that will streamline our room scheduling processes.
Benefits:
The new Astra Schedule system will provide many new features and benefits but here are few key benefits:
- Provide real-time availability of events and academic spaces in one location.
- Provide room utilization information for both academic and non-academic spaces.
- Allow you to reserve rooms yourself.
- And, from a security standpoint, allow the College to know what is happening on campus and during an emergency.
Next Steps:
The new system will be in place beginning June 26, 2023. But don’t worry, you won’t notice much of a difference. You will still go to the Registrar’s website or click on the room scheduling tile in MyPortal to schedule a room, only the form will be slightly different. More information and training will be available in the coming weeks. For now, we just wanted you to be aware that this change is coming.
