To prepare employees for the upcoming PEBA insurance benefits open enrollment period, Oct. 1–31, 2023, the College of Charleston’s Office of Human Resources is holding a benefits fair in the Stern Student Ballroom from 8 a.m.–2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023.
This is a great opportunity to speak with South Carolina representatives from PEBA Insurance Benefits, BlueCross/BlueShield of South Carolina, ExpressScripts and the new spending account provider, TASC. A representative from PEBA Retirement Benefits as well as vendor representatives of the State Optional Retirement Program will also be available. Other representation includes the South Carolina Deferred Compensation Program, financial planners and chiropractic care.
Not only will employees be able to ask questions and receive updated information concerning insurance and retirement benefits, but they can also win door prizes and even get their flu shots! From 10 a.m.–3 p.m., the College will offer flu shots for employees and students outside the Stern Student Center. Employees should bring their insurance card to receive the vaccination.
Employees will receive copies of the PEBA open enrollment worksheet and PEBA federally mandated notices information through campus mail ahead of the open enrollment period. To further prepare for open enrollment, employees are encouraged to review the PEBA 2024 Insurance Summary and the PEBA 2024 Insurance Guide. Contact CofC benefits counselors Joe Nowjack or Sandy Butler if you have questions about open enrollment.
