Faculty and staff are encouraged to complete the employee module of DiversityEDU, available through CougarEd (cofc.myabsorb.com), and immerse the topics and information into their daily lives, roles and responsibilities.
Meant to educate faculty and staff about situations they may encounter at the College and how to prepare for and handle them better, the robust, interactive employee module is divided into three parts and focuses on engagement with diversity, communication for inclusion and the influence of unconscious bias.

โWhen there are these unseen obstacles, you kind of hold back what your strengths might be,โ saysย Rรฉnard Harris, CofCโs vice president of access and inclusion and chief diversity officer. โWe want to unleash the beautiful side of ourselves. Those attributes โ the ones that make us unique โ could really enhance the community.โ
To access DiversityEDU, employees may log onto CougarEd and either search for โFaculty and Staff: Personal Skills for a Diverse Campusโ or locate the course under โMy Courses.โ
