The Lowcountry Graduate Center (LGC) welcomes Alan Kleinfeld as its new director.
An accomplished manager, educator and communicator, Kleinfeld joins the LGC upon the retirement of Nancy Muller, who provided leadership for the organization for eight years, championing workforce pipeline development and transitioning the LGC from a centralized model of in-person graduate-level instruction for adult learners in North Charleston to a predominantly online model that provides greater accessibility across the Lowcountry region.
As a business owner, published author, project manager, seasoned educator and trainer, Kleinfeld has decades of experience in organizational development, relationship development and communications planning and implementation. He has previously taught courses such as meeting management and event management as an adjunct instruction in the College’s School of Business. He earned his B.A. in professional writing from the University of New Mexico and his master of tourism administration from the School of Business at George Washington University.
The LGC is a state-funded organization that promotes graduate-level education and professional development at the College of Charleston, The Citadel and the Medical University of South Carolina. Through collaboration with leading area employers and business development teams both locally and around the state, the LGC not only helps identify workforce needs so that programs can be developed to address those gaps, but also connects its member institutions with employers that rely on their graduates.
By enabling working professionals to grow their careers right here in the greater Charleston area, the LGC not only enhances workforce talent in the Lowcountry but contributes to the economic vitality and wellness of the community.
