The College of Charleston is partnering with the City of Charleston’s Planning Commission to host a presentation by world-renowned architect and urban planner Andres Duany at the Sottile Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at 5 p.m.
Duany, who was hired by the city last spring to study and comment upon the city’s architectural review processes and new construction on the peninsula, will present his final report. This report follows preliminary recommendations previously released to the public.
This special gathering is being jointly hosted by several programs and centers at the College: the Urban Studies Program, the Historic Preservation and Community Planning Program, the Carter Real Estate Center and the Joseph P. Riley Center for Livable Communities. Duany’s report is expected to have far-reaching influence on design and planning in Charleston for the forseeable future. The event is free and open to the public.
