A select group of students will explore everything from the mate choice of squirrel tree frogs and exoplanets to zero-waste stage design and the presence of antibiotic-resistant organisms in tidal environments through Summer Undergraduate Research with Faculty grants.
This year's Summer Undergraduate Research with Faculty (SURF) grant projects span a variety of academic interests, from exploring a potential new treatment for spinal cord injuries to environmentally friendly water purification techniques to the integration of video projections into lighting design.
Each summer, students at the College of Charleston gain hands-on experience by working closely with faculty mentors on College-funded research projects that represent a wide range of academic disciplines.
