The College of Charleston Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC) has announced the newest members of the SAC Executive Committee:
- Chair: Charissa Owens, director of diversity education and training, Office of Institutional Diversity
- Vice Chair: Kate Tiller, senior associate athletics director for student-athlete success/senior women’s administrator
- Treasurer: Dawn Brandt, senior budget and finance reporting manager, Office of Budgeting and Payroll Services
- Secretary: Stephanie Smith, manager for continuing student transfer evaluation. Office of the Registrar
In addition, these subcommittee chairs have joined the executive team:
- Communication and Media Outreach: Darcie Goodwin, senior director of advancement communications, Office of University Communications
- Inclusion, Belonging and Wellness: Marla Robertson, program coordinator and communications assistant director, School of Humanities and Social Sciences
- Membership and Elections: Dawn Brandt, senior budget and finance reporting manager, Office of Budgeting and Payroll Services
- Professional Growth, Leadership and Lifelong Learning: Anastasia Gilpatrick, project manager, Office of the Provost
- Staff Recognition and Awards: Darcy Everett, sustainability director, Office of Sustainability
The SAC meets as an entire committee at least once a month, and each subcommittee meets once per month or as needed. The SAC also hosts several events, including the Celebration of Staff annually in the summer where staff accomplishments are celebrated and the recipients of the annual Staff Awards are announced. Divisional representatives communicate SAC initiatives with their divisions, encourage their divisions to participate in SAC-sponsored events and solicit action items for SAC to work on.

SAC represents employees across all units of the College, including approximately 1,000 full- and part-time exempt and non-exempt staff members. The purpose of SAC is to advise the president about staff opinions concerning matters of importance to the staff and institution, to receive the president’s requests for advice and counsel regarding matters relevant to the staff, to increase awareness of the staff’s contributions to the College, to promote the recognition of outstanding staff and to advocate for ongoing initiatives supporting employee success and well-being.
