The Staff Advisory Committee to the President(SAC) will host in-person and virtual Cougar Drop-Ins in April.  

In-Person Drop-In: The in-person drop-in will take place on Rivers Green from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 (rain location: Alumni Memorial Hall). As the first Friday of the month, April 1 is also Cougar Spirit Day, and staff are encouraged to wear their Cougar gear and/or colors.

Staff can stop by for light refreshments, a raffle and the opportunity to meet their SAC representatives. They will also be able to write on ribbons about their campus colleagues who are “hidden gems.” The ribbons will be tied to the gates of Rivers Green for the month of April in celebration of CofC employees.

In addition, employees will have the chance at the drop-in to write and submit nomination(s) for the annual Staff Awards.

At 11:15 a.m., Brooke Anne Bedingfield, training and development assistant in the Office of Human Resources (HR), will share about how the College is investing in CofC employees, including the Employee Tuition Assistance Program (ETAP) and other new strategic initiatives. Afterwards, HR will have a table for people to come by with one-on-one questions.

Virtual Cougar Drop-In: The virtual drop-in, designed for CofC remote workers and telecommuters, will take place via Zoom on Friday April 8, 2002, from 11 a.m. to noon.

At 11:15 a.m., Becky McManus, director of employee development and employee relations in HR, will share her office’s efforts to support CofC employees before opening the floor up for questions.

SAC represents employees across all units of the College, including approximately 1,000 full- and part-time exempt and non-exempt staff members. The purpose of SAC is to advise the president about staff opinions concerning matters of importance to the staff and institution, to receive the president’s requests for advice and counsel regarding matters relevant to the staff, to increase awareness of the staff’s contributions to the College, to promote the recognition of outstanding staff and to advocate for ongoing initiatives supporting employee success and wellbeing.
