With the 2021 fall semester here, it's not just new students we're seeing on the College of Charleston campus, there are also some fresh faces in front of the classrooms, too.
The College of Charleston welcomes over two dozen new professors to campus this year, with specialties ranging from bioinformatics to Native American religious traditions to behavioral finance.
Each year, new faculty members are hired by the College as the institution continues its commitment to providing the best education and career preparation possible.
The College of Charleston welcomed 39 new faculty members – including four roster faculty members and 35 adjunct lecturers – to campus this spring semester.
Each year, the College of Charleston hires new professors and this year's crop of 60 represents a wide array of research and teaching expertise.
The College's newest faculty members represent a broad array of research and teaching specialties that range from Shakespearean drama to real estate finance to observational astrophysics.
Computer science professor Xenia Mountrouidou (aka Dr. X) had barely gotten her feet wet before she took the plunge – taking her newfound love of diving to the extreme as an advanced cave diver.
